Lansons promotes Ben Abbotts to the Board

Lansons Communications has announced that Head of Public Affairs, Ben Abbotts, has been promoted to the Board with immediate effect. Ben worked at Liberal Democrat HQ ‘war room’ during the general election and was named one of Total Politics Top 40 UK lobbyists in 2010. He is a Lib Dem European Parliament Candidate and also stood in the 2005 General Election and a 2006 Parliamentary by election.

Commenting on the promotion Lansons Chief Executive Tony Langham said: “This promotion recognises Ben’s contribution in developing our Public Affairs capability, which has seen commendable growth over recent months. In these coalition times public affairs insight and counsel is vital to UK plc and we are seeing this reflected across our client base.”

Commenting, Ben Abbotts said: ‘Demonstrable understanding of the dynamic of Liberal Democrats in government is at a premium in the public affairs sector and I am glad that this role enables me to offer that knowledge, as well as to continue building our profile and commercial success’.

This news follows the recent appointment of regulatory expert Mark Penton to the Lansons’ Board, further expanding Lansons’ Public Affairs and Regulatory Consulting practice.

These appointments are in addition to the five Board promotions in February of this year and reflect the increasing breadth of consultancy services and specialist knowledge being offered by the agency’s four practices: Corporate (including Public Affairs and Regulatory Consulting), Brand and Consumer, Financial Services and Lansons Live, the broadcast and digital practice.
